Starry Night

Starry Night

Starry Night

Progress continues on my $10 quilt at Country Concessions… I really should post a little more often but I’m afraid my negative attitude may be off-putting.

I’ve been watching as many of my friends move on with more “artsy” quilts… AND since I’m experiencing mega-boredom with the half-square triangles in this quilt I’m thinking that’s the way to go. Any way to get away from the half-square-triangle hell I’ve found myself in. Half-square triangles, month after month, are tedious! If the fabric wasn’t so energetic I would have abandoned the project months ago. Sigh…

Border choices…

June 18, 2008

I have been trying to decide on borders for the “Playing with Triangles” quilt top from Cathy’s workshop. I have narrowed it down to two choices. The first I could finish immediately as both fabrics are in my stash. The second choice I would have to go shopping to find the outer border fabric. First is dark, second is light. Which do you prefer?

1st border choice

OR

2nd border choice

I could order the second fabric online or find something similar with cream background and open’ish’ floral print.  Hmmm…

Logcabin Workshop

May 6, 2008

Saturday’s Logcabin workshop (thanks Joanne!) was educational/interesting… It was work, so I’m not saying ‘fun’. I’ve finished the blocks and have an idea how I want to finish them…

quilt-pictures-009-25.jpgThis is my finished quilt from Patti’s workshop on Saturday.  Now I get to practice my machine quilting. I don’t have any ideas that jump of the page on what design to quilt on it.

Now comes the hard part… deciding how it should be quilted.

3-star-points.jpg

Using the “Pinch and Flip” method of seam matching, I managed to complete three, count ’em, three star points.  So, does this mean I will actually finish this thing? I can hardly keep my eyes open. It is time for bed…

Lone Star Workshop

March 5, 2008

Are we all doing the workshop on Saturday? I thought I would take a photo of the fabrics I have chosen for the project. It would be great if we can post pics of all our fabric choices for future reference.

Lone Star Workshop with Patti Carey

I also found another Lone Star pattern by Patti in the January 2007 issue of The Quilter. I will bring that along on Saturday, too. It might have some helpful tips & pointers.
